When you’re planning one of the most important days of your life, you want it to feel special. For many couples, that means hiring a wedding planner who promises a "luxury" experience. That was exactly what we thought we were getting when we hired BTS Events Management and its owner, Trista Croce.
What we got instead was something entirely different.
Luxury Is an Experience, Not an Aesthetic
We’ve come to realize that true luxury is not defined by Instagram filters or TikTok videos. It is not about designer logos, styled shoots, or fancy language on a website. Real luxury is about service, trust, professionalism, and attention to detail. It is about how clients are treated and how problems are handled. It is about delivering what was promised, and doing so with integrity.
BTS Events and Trista Croce presented themselves as a high-end wedding planning firm. Their branding was polished. Their social media was curated. But once the contract was signed, that "luxury" quickly began to fade.
A Disappointing Experience Behind the Scenes
Despite their luxury image, the actual experience was filled with miscommunication, unexplained charges, and unmet expectations. Vendors were kept out of the loop. There were surprise fees on invoices. Service was inconsistent at best and dismissive at worst.
When we raised concerns, we were often met with vague answers or defensiveness. In one case, a service fee mysteriously disappeared the moment we questioned it. That kind of behavior doesn’t reflect luxury. It reflects something else entirely.
Style Over Substance
BTS Events seems focused on optics. They are good at selling a dream through visuals and social media. But style without substance leaves couples feeling misled. We are not alone in this feeling. Since sharing our story, others have come forward with similar experiences.
Luxury is not a mood board. It is not a hashtag. It is how you are made to feel throughout the process. It is clear communication, ethical billing, and a commitment to delivering on promises. We did not experience that with BTS Events or Trista Croce.
Protect Yourself From the Illusion
If you are planning a wedding and considering working with a high-end planner, do your research. Ask to see vendor contracts. Get clear answers about fees. Pay attention to how they respond to questions. A luxury brand should never make you feel ignored, gaslit, or taken advantage of.
If you have had a similar experience or have questions about what to watch out for, we want to hear from you. You can reach us at quack@tristacroce.com. Your story matters, and the more transparency we bring to this industry, the better protected future couples will be.
