Is Trista Croce Stealing from Her Clients? A Personal Account and Open Question

When you hire a wedding planner, you’re putting your trust (and often a significant amount of money) into someone who promises to make one of the most important days of your life stress-free and beautiful. That’s why it’s especially painful when that trust is broken.

In our case, we hired Trista Croce and BTS Event Management expecting professionalism, transparency, and follow-through. Instead, we were left with a long list of broken promises, vague invoices, and serious questions about where our money actually went.

We paid for services and items that were either never delivered or fell far short of what was promised. On top of that, every invoice included vague "service charges" that were never clearly explained. The one time we pushed back on one of these mysterious fees, it magically disappeared with no explanation other than being told, “Don’t worry about it.” That kind of response only raises more suspicion.

We're not alone. Since coming forward with our experience, we’ve heard from others who claim they were discouraged, or even threatened, when they tried to bring in outside vendors or contractors. The implication was clear: work with BTS’s preferred vendors (and pay their markup), or face resistance. This type of behavior raises serious red flags.

All of this leads us to an uncomfortable question:
Is Trista Croce misappropriating funds or stealing from her clients?

We can’t say definitively, but based on our experience and the stories others have shared, it’s a question worth asking.

We encourage others who have worked with Trista Croce or BTS Event Management to come forward and share their stories. Transparency and accountability matter, especially in an industry built on trust.

Why I'm Speaking Out About BTS Event Management and Trista Croce

Over the past year, I’ve been contacted by multiple people who have had deeply frustrating, emotionally draining, and financially damaging experiences with BTS Event Management and its founder, Trista Croce.

Most recently, I received a message from another concerned client:

*"We hired BTS for my daughter’s wedding about 15 months ahead of the wedding. Trista was super rude and wanted to keep us out of every negotiation with vendors. She also wouldn’t listen to inputs and always threatened my daughter that we were in breach of contract and on our own if we brought our own vendors. It was really toxic. They were always late with all items and did the bare minimum. About 11 months into this relationship, we fired them because we didn’t want the stress of having them during our main event.

We are trying to get our money back through our credit card company but it’s been rough. What was your experience with them?

Thanks for sharing in advance."*

This isn’t the first message like this I’ve received. It’s not even the second. I’ve heard from couples, parents, and wedding guests — all echoing similar frustrations with BTS Event Management’s poor communication, lack of professionalism, and combative approach.

So Why Am I Sharing This?

Because silence protects the people who continue to do harm. Trista Croce and her company, BTS Event Management, continue to advertise themselves as luxury wedding planners while delivering chaotic, unprofessional service that has left couples heartbroken and financially burdened.

We put our trust in this company and were met with:

  • High employee turnover

  • Missed deadlines

  • Poor communication

  • Budget mismanagement

  • Last-minute crises

  • Emotional stress

Our story is already public, but the more I hear from others, the more I realize that sharing these experiences is necessary. People deserve to make informed decisions when hiring a wedding planner. The goal isn’t revenge — it’s accountability, transparency, and helping others avoid the same disappointment.

If You're Considering BTS Event Management…

Please, do your research. Read reviews across multiple platforms. Reach out to former clients. And don’t ignore red flags — we did, and we paid for it.

If you’ve had a similar experience, I encourage you to speak out as well. These stories matter. They may be the warning someone else needs before they sign a contract they’ll regret.

The Unprofessional Final Weeks with Trista Croce and BTS Event Management: A Wedding Planning Nightmare

Planning a wedding should be exciting, but for us, the last days before the big event were a whirlwind of stress, confusion, and disappointment — all thanks to Trista Croce and BTS Event Management.

Just three days before our wedding, we found ourselves scrambling to finalize details that should have been completed weeks earlier. During a crucial Zoom call, my wife was so upset she couldn’t even bear to talk to Trista or the “lead” planner, Claire.

No Face Time, No Accountability

What made it worse? Trista never once turned her camera on during any of our multiple Zoom meetings. This lack of basic professionalism left us feeling ignored and disrespected. In contrast, we had to be fully engaged, trying to fix issues that were clearly not our responsibility.

Mystery Invoices and Missing Budgets

Over $10,000 in invoices showed up with mysterious service changes and extra charges, all while we had been chasing BTS for months to provide a budget—something Trista had agreed to deliver but repeatedly missed every timeline.

This lack of transparency made it impossible to track costs, and we suspect we were overcharged for many services.

Misspelled Names and Rushed Products

Even on that final call, I had to correct Trista on how to spell our last name. This careless rush caused misspellings and grammatical errors on printed products we paid for — details that felt so basic but were completely botched.

The Takeaway: Choose Your Wedding Planner Carefully

Our experience with Trista Croce and BTS Event Management showed us how critical it is to have a planner who communicates clearly, honors deadlines, and shows respect. Unfortunately, with BTS, we got the opposite.

If you're considering working with Trista Croce or BTS Events, we urge you to be cautious and demand transparency from the start.

My Biggest Regret: Not Firing BTS Event Management When the First Planner Quit

Hiring a wedding planner is supposed to make the process smoother, less stressful, and more enjoyable. Unfortunately, our experience with Trista Croce and BTS Event Management did the opposite. Looking back, our biggest regret wasn’t the poor communication, the missed deadlines, or the careless mistakes — it was not walking away when the first red flag appeared.

That red flag? Our original planner quit shortly after we signed our contract.

At the time, we were reassured by Trista Croce and the BTS team that this was normal and not a cause for concern. But it was. That abrupt change set the tone for what would become a long and disappointing relationship with a wedding planning company that failed us in every way.

Early Signs of a Wedding Planning Failure

Once the first planner left, things went downhill fast. Communication became sporadic. Deadlines were missed. And most painfully, my wife — who had poured her heart into planning our big day — felt completely ignored. She voiced her concerns and was brushed off.

We were assigned five different planners over the course of our engagement. Each time, we had to start over — explaining our vision again, rehashing decisions, and hoping the new person would care enough to get it right. Spoiler: they didn’t.

Details slipped through the cracks. Our names were misspelled on documents days before the wedding. A vendor contract wasn’t reviewed correctly, causing us to lose a security deposit. These are not small mistakes. They are signs of a broken process and leadership that simply doesn’t value their clients.

Trista Croce’s Leadership at BTS Events

The constant staff turnover at BTS Event Management was more than inconvenient — it was disruptive and deeply unprofessional. And yet, Trista Croce, who owns the company, continued to downplay every concern we raised.

Instead of taking ownership, she offered reassurances that everything was “fine.” But it wasn’t. The lack of attention to detail, the absence of accountability, and the sheer emotional exhaustion we experienced were anything but fine.

What We Wish We Had Done

We wish we had trusted our instincts and fired BTS Events when the first planner quit. We wish we had listened to the warning signs when my wife felt like she was being dismissed and excluded. But like many couples, we wanted to believe it would work out.

If you’re planning your wedding and something feels off, don’t ignore it. The earlier you cut ties with the wrong vendor, the more time you have to find the right one.

We didn’t. And it cost us dearly.

When Details Matter: How Trista Croce and BTS Event Management Failed Us as Wedding Planners

When you hire a wedding planner, you expect them to be your partner in creating a seamless, beautiful, and stress-free day. For the price we paid, we expected professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, what we got from Trista Croce and her team at BTS Event Management was the opposite.

This post isn’t about nitpicking—it’s about calling out a pattern of oversight, negligence, and mismanagement that led to costly, embarrassing, and completely avoidable problems on one of the most important days of our lives.

1. We Asked for a Budget. We Never Got One.

At our very first meeting, we asked for a working budget—a basic tool in wedding planning. Despite repeated requests, BTS Event Management never provided one. This left us constantly guessing at where we stood financially, with no clear breakdown of vendor costs or where our money was going. For a planner billing themselves as luxury professionals, this was baffling.

2. The Constant Employee Turnover Made Things Worse

We’ve already shared how we were shuffled between five different planners during our time working with BTS. Every time someone new stepped in, we had to start over—re-explaining our vision, resending documents, and correcting misunderstandings. Details were lost in the shuffle. There was no consistency, no centralized notes, and no real system for continuity.

By the time the wedding arrived, the lead planner had gone from a junior assistant to being in charge of everything. That lack of experience and oversight showed at every turn.

3. They Didn't Read the Fine Print—And We Paid the Price

One of our vendors had very specific contract terms, including requirements around check-in timing and responsibilities. BTS failed to review those terms properly, and we lost our security deposit as a result. This was a completely preventable mistake that a professional planner should have caught with ease.

Instead, we were the ones left footing the bill—for something that wasn’t our fault.

4. They Couldn't Even Get Our Name Right

Three days before the wedding, BTS was still asking how to spell our last name. That’s not a joke. We found multiple misspellings in signage, documentation, and correspondence. For a company that had been working with us for over a year—and had access to our contracts, stationery, and personal info—this was shocking.

Getting our name wrong wasn’t just sloppy; it was symbolic of the overall carelessness we experienced throughout the process.

Final Thoughts

Weddings are made up of hundreds of little details. That’s why people hire wedding planners in the first place—to help make sure nothing slips through the cracks. But with Trista Croce and BTS Event Management, almost everything did.

Their repeated oversights cost us time, money, and peace of mind. If you’re looking for a planner who takes your day seriously, we urge you to reconsider hiring BTS.

Planning a wedding should be a joyful experience — but many couples working with BTS Event Management and Trista Croce have reported the exact opposite. Last year, I received a message on LinkedIn that highlights just how widespread the problems with BTS really are.

The message said:

Why High Turnover at BTS Event Management Ruined Our Wedding Planning Experience

When you hire a wedding planner, you expect professionalism, continuity, and clear communication, especially when you’re paying for premium services. Unfortunately, our experience with BTS Event Management, led by Trista Croce, was marked by constant staff turnover, poor communication, and ultimately, a wedding that didn’t reflect what we asked or paid for.

5 Planners in 1 Wedding: The Reality of BTS Event Management

Over the course of our engagement, we worked with five different planners at BTS. That’s not an exaggeration. We were passed from one person to the next, often without explanation. The revolving door made it impossible to build trust, establish a consistent vision, or keep our wedding on track.

Shockingly, by the time our wedding rolled around, a junior assistant named Claire—who was brand new to the company when we first started working with BTS—had somehow become our lead wedding planner. And now, I'm seeing that Claire is also no longer with BTS. That tells you everything you need to know about the retention and leadership issues at this company.

Poor Leadership and Mismanagement

This level of turnover isn’t just unfortunate—it’s a leadership failure. As the owner and founder of BTS Event Management, Trista Croce is ultimately responsible for the systems (or lack thereof) that should preserve the client experience even through internal staffing changes.

Instead, we were left:

  • Repeating our vision and design preferences multiple times

  • Sending the same documents and inspiration images to new planners

  • Watching important details fall through the cracks between transitions

  • Feeling like we were planning the wedding ourselves, despite paying for full-service coordination

Each time a new planner took over, we lost weeks of momentum. Worse, we were constantly told things were “on track,” only to find out later that deadlines were missed or details ignored.

Communication Breakdowns and Last-Minute Chaos

Our wedding design changed multiple times, often without our input. Vendors weren’t coordinated properly. Our timeline was rushed and incomplete. Items we paid for never arrived or were incorrect. Even basic logistics like guest seating, lighting, and vendor insurance were botched because no one at BTS had a full handle on the plan.

We expected a seamless process. What we got was chaos—largely because Trista Croce and her team failed to manage their staff, retain talent, or take responsibility when things went wrong.

Why This Matters

Hiring a wedding planner is supposed to reduce stress. With BTS, it caused more of it. The leadership instability and high turnover left us scrambling to hold things together in the final weeks before our wedding—when we should have been focused on enjoying the moment.

If you’re researching BTS Event Management reviews or considering working with Trista Croce, we strongly urge you to ask:

  • How many team members will work on your wedding—and what happens if they leave?

  • What systems are in place to ensure continuity?

  • How does the company handle client handoffs and transitions?

We wish we had.

We’re sharing our experience to help other couples avoid the same heartbreak and disappointment. If you have questions about working with Trista Croce or BTS Event Management, feel free to contact us directly at quack@tristacroce.com. We're happy to provide honest insight to anyone considering this vendor.
